Science-y Goodness!

So necessary for breathing and movement, etc, yet so damaging as well. Interesting to think that the free radicals in one year of breathing is equivalent to a huge number of chest x-rays.

There was an interesting "Kitchen Science" (try it at home) experiment on The Naked Scientist radio/podcast show this week that is relavent to the book we're reading. Check it out.

Is is interesting, but are free radicals what makes a huge number of chest x-rays dangerous? Or is it the radiation? In other words, does radiation bring on free radicals or are the two separate dangers? (I don't know).
